I've set myself an 'Alphabet Challenge' for 2018.
Each week I will move through the alphabet and make a piece of art related to whichever letter I have reached. It might be a tv show, film, character or vehicle - whatever pops into my head.
Apologies to the usual WIP game players but I have been really rushed off my feet this week and just haven't had as much time available as usual and I'm grabbing free time where I can.
Getting to week 19 and although there are soooo many candidates for the letter 'S' I wanted to go a little outside the box and went straight for the sensible option - Spaceballs!
I love this movie! The comic timing is pure genius in places, the spoof's are everywhere and one of my favourite scenes in sci-fi film history is in this movie. It's where Colonel Sandurz tells Dark Helmet that they could find where Lone Starr and the Princess are simply by watching the movie. This then leads to the film being on a loop and this genius conversation:
Dark Helmet (DH) "What the hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie?"
Colonel Sandurz (CS) "Now. You're looking at now, Sir. Everything that happens now, is happening now."
DH "What happened to then?"
CS "We passed it."
DH "When?"
CS "Just now. We're at now, now."
DH "Go back to then."
CS "When?"
DH "Now."
CS "Now?"
DH "Now."
CS "I can't."
DH "Why?"
CS "We missed it."
DH "When?"
CS "Just now."
DH "When will then be now?"
CS "Soon."
DH "How soon?"
Spaceball Technician (ST) "Sir!"
DH "What?"
ST "We've identified their location."
CS "Where?"
ST "It's the moon of Vega."
CS "Good work! Set a course and prepare for our arrival."
DH "When?"
ST "1900 hours, Sir."
CS "By high noon tomorrow they will be our prisoners!"
DH "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?"
First time I saw that I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe properly by the end of it!
