I've set myself an 'Alphabet Challenge' for 2018.
Each week I will move through the alphabet and make a piece of art related to whichever letter I have reached. It might be a tv show, film, character or ship - whatever pops into my head.
So, week 6 and we have 'F' and the first thing that sprang to mind was the ultimate 'punk child' of sci-fi, Farscape. I LOVE this show with it's great characters, sometimes quirky stories and an amazing mix of old school acting, CGI and awesome puppetry from the Henson workshop! Plus it's the only show that would have me shouting at the TV in frustration with the cliffhanger endings
There are too many great characters to choose from but after drawing a human for E, I wanted something alien and Dominar Rygel XVI fit the bill
Apologies for not doing the WIP game at the moment as with family here, my online time is more limited for the next month but rest assured we will return to the game as it's a lot of fun and your guesses have been hilarious.
So the projects up to 'H' might be a little quicker than some or where I can work from an image while minding little ones and making sure they're keeping the colour on the paper and not the walls
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 16 colours.
Rygel's eyes were done with white, dark sepia, black, cold grey 3, cold grey 4 and warm grey 2.
His ear-brows were done with white, earth green, dark sepia, cinnamon and warm grey 2.
His nose was done with white, earth green, dark sepia, Venetian red and warm grey 1.
His mouth was done with white, earth green, dark sepia, cinnamon, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
His moustache was done with white, warm grey 1 and warm grey 4.
His skin was done with white, earth green, dark sepia, bistre, raw umber, cinnamon and warm grey 2.
His hair was done with white, cream and warm grey 4.
His clothes, the tiny little bit you can see, were done with permanent carmine, dark sepia and warm grey 1.
The background was done with dark sepia, nougat, raw umber, Venetian red and warm grey 4.
